Awardee of JHSPH Global Health Established Field Placement grant (traveled to Macao June-August 2019). Contributed to various projects and published manuscripts in global health, including: organizing a crowdsourcing contest in Macao for Chinese youth to market a culturally-adapted WHO digital mental health intervention, and using network analysis on R to find associations between addictive behavior and PTSD symptoms among Filipino migrant workers in Macao.

Nairobi, Kenya

Supported NIH R01 project on the implementation and dissemination of myPlanKenya, a web-based safety planning tool for women experiencing intimate partner violence. Provided technical/logistical support and trainings to field teams to recruit a target of 100 organizations (in health, justice, and community-based sectors) as myPlan implementers. Facilitated forums for implementers including Ministry of Health, religious leaders, and CHVs. Conducted QA/QC for surveys and databases, tracked and mapped outreach metrics including on Tableau, and contributed to progress reports for implementation research data collection.

Analyzed quantitative and qualitative climate survey results from Baltimore schools to contribute to a needs assessment report on sexual harassment, dating abuse, discrimination, and bystander intervention. Created surveys to gauge survivor needs for organization serving survivors of sexual violence.

Reviewed data briefs and developed indicator tables on reproductive health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries, including by reviewing and updating code to manage large-scale datasets on Stata and GitKraken.

Contributed to scoping review on COVID-related community and psychosocial interventions in the Western Pacific Region; worked with Lead Consultant, Prof. Brian J. Hall, PhD, for Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO), Mental Health and Substance Use Division of Programmes for Disease Control.

Adapted mental health mobile app for clinicians experiencing burnout amid COVID-19: compiled mental health resource database and wireframes for the app. Coded NLP algorithm on Python to identify app users’ journal entries that indicate risk of suicidal behavior.
