In addition, I take vital signs for each patient, obtain blood glucose levels, and perform EKGs as necessary. In addition to med/surg units, I have also been able to work in several different units, including acute rehab, ICU, and ER. This role has helped me understand how the healthcare team functions in a hospital setting and the various challenges a career in healthcare entails.
