Technical Consultant with assignment at Volvo Cars.My main task was to lead a cross functional project of building a Quarter Car HIL Rig and deliver the signals measured with the help of sensors by performing various load cases to test run the rig especially during the early concept development phase of the project. The assignment also consisted of mechanical design using CATIA V5. Worked as a Group Design Leader (GDL)/Component Owner within wheel suspension team. Performed a conceptual study on wheel suspension tuning component. Responsibility included early phase concept work, budget planning, and following the important time deadlines of the large cluster projects.Performed feasibility study on a wheel suspension component which involved post processing of test data as well as Road Load Data Acquisition (RLDA).Carried out a conceptual study for an Advanced Engineering project related to Fully Active Suspension. Created a database and performed benchmarking study on competitors battery electric vehicles specifically for the chassis domain.During this time, I grew a lot as an cae engineer and got to know in detail about the various components within chassis and wheel suspension. I also learnt about cost efficient designing, design for manufacturing as well as design for assembly. I had a great team to learn from and evolve together with.

"Design of a Quarter Car HIL Rig for Software Function Development of Fully Active Suspension (FAS) and Continuously Controlled Dampers (CCD)"Applied vehicle dynamics for a 2D dynamic model (Free Body Diagram).Designed a conceptual model of a rig by combining a tire, a suspension geometry, Linear Motion Guide (LM Guide), and all the necessary required components to fix the test rig to the ground.Performed an analysis of Tire Test Rig on ADAMS Car to decide whether to keep a stationary tire or a rolling tire considering complexity.Designed a 3D CAD geometry of a modular rig with the help of Catia -Teamcenter Integration tool.Simulated a CAE model of a HIL Rig on Adams Car.Built the physical rig and performed various load cases scenarios to test run the rig to measure the different signals coming out with the help of instrumentation as well as production sensors.

During the summer 2022, I have been working at Volvo Cars as an intern within Suspension Mechatronics HW and Tuning Control team. The work consisted of studying the effects of a Piercing Point on the spring design. As a part of verification, another task was to build a physical rig & compare it with kinematic rig model on MSC ADAMS. I learnt a lot about working culture at Volvo Cars during this internship and built a good contact network. This gave me an exciting opportunity to perform my master thesis at the same department at Volvo Cars.

Within my team, together with the people from interdisciplinary background, we built a formula race car from scratch in less than a year and finished 7th place overall in the worlds largest engineering competition for students. This project was extremely valuable for me since I learned project management, vehicle dynamics design, metals manufacturing, testing, racing, and leadership in an real world scenario together with my team. These learnings really refilled my total learning experience from Chalmers University of Technology and kickstarted my career as an engineer.Core responsibilities:Responsible for leading the Engineering Design and Engineering Cost presentation event.Designed and analyzed Heave and Roll suspension geometry.Simulated full car vehicle dynamics using MSC Adams.Built and tested kinematics and compliance model.As a race engineer, tuned the suspension based on sensor data analysis.On a Motion Simulator, performed real-life tests that are known in the trade as steady state cornering on a skid pad and over speeding into corners, which are done with varying weight distributions and brake biases while at the same time gaining experience with “on-limit driving”. Also, drove the high-fidelity model of a Porsche Cayman to see what the simulator is capable of.

Developed experimental setup and verification plans for new products.Performed FMEA, documented test results and prepared statistical as well as analytical summaries.Designed prototypes of special purpose products and optimized them for better manufacturability and cost reduction.Selected spring material to meet customer’s performance expectations.Tested in-development springs using compression test machines.

Developed various methodologies to test the formula student car for comprehensive performance evaluation.Lead the group of interdisciplinary people and deliver driving performance and vehicle dynamics verification from simulation to testing for current as well as future products such as variable stiffness springs, decoupled suspension, etc. Organized brainstorming and bonding sessions within the team.

Developed and reviewed engineering plans. Acquired all necessary technical specifications and designs from the Chief Technical Officer for different types of transformers. Kept watch on the manufacturing process and took a final reading of technical results as required. Recommended changes in policy.
