As a Senior Assistance Public Prosecutor at the International Legal Assistance Center (IRC), I play a crucial role in facilitating and coordinating international legal aid requests, acting as a vital link between the Public Prosecutor’s office, the police, and foreign judicial authorities. My work is embedded within a nationwide collaboration framework that ensures seamless communication and cooperation across national and international boundaries. The IRCs form a national network dedicated to handling incoming and outgoing international legal assistance requests. In my capacity, I also facilitate the direct exchange of requests between the Public Prosecutor’s Office and courts within the European Union and liaise with the Ministry for cases involving countries outside the EU or based on reciprocity.Role and Responsibilities:- Advisory Role: I provide expert advice to prosecutors and police on evidence collection abroad, extradition, and the transfer of criminal proceedings. This encompasses both straightforward and complex cases, including those involving organized crime and undermining activities. - Legal Evaluation: I conduct thorough legal assessments of complex international legal assistance requests, ensuring that they meet stringent legal standards and are processed efficiently. - Coordination and Communication: Acting as the key liaison, I coordinate with foreign judicial authorities to manage the execution of legal assistance requests. My role ensures that all parties are aligned and that requests are handled with precision and care. - Quality Assurance: I contribute to and uphold the high legal standards and knowledge within the prosecution office concerning international legal assistance. This involves continuous learning and dissemination of best practices. - Interdepartmental Collaboration: I work closely with the prosecutor, other regional and national IRCs, and administrative support to ensure smooth operations and effective case management.

As a Trainee at Public Prosecutor’s Office, I joined an intensive and comprehensive traineeship over the span of almost two years, designed to develop expertise across various facets of criminal law and prosecution. This traineeship is structured into four distinct blocks, each lasting several months, and provides hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals.Traffic Matters: The journey began at the Central Public Prosecutor's Office, where I worked on assessing and processing traffic-related cases. This phase involved direct mentorship from experienced trainers, ensuring a solid foundation in traffic law and prosecution.Common Crime: Following the initial phase, I delved into common criminal cases, engaging in both legal courses and personal development training provided by the Judiciary Training Institute. This stage included working on cases from inception to resolution, collaborating closely with key partners like the police and probation services.Interventions Department: Next, I transitioned to the Interventions Department at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Rotterdam. Here, I handled a variety of criminal cases, including violence, theft, vandalism, fraud, and domestic violence, while continuing my personal and professional development under the guidance of experienced colleagues.Investigations: In the final block, I worked within the Investigations Department. This involved tackling serious crimes with significant societal impacts, such as organised and subversive crime, fraud, environmental cases, and appeals. The diverse experience I gained here is crucial for understanding the broad spectrum of criminal law.Throughout the traineeship, continuous learning and experience-sharing sessions enhanced my legal acumen and personal growth. I successfully completed the traineeship in June 2023.

I worked as a Legal Advisor at the National Service Desk to provide urgent assistance to clients facing acute legal and personal challenges. The clients I assisted were often overwhelmed by complex issues such as debts, rental problems, divorces, and labor disputes. Key Responsibilities:- Client Interaction: I engaged with clients who are referred to me by our call center, listening to their urgent issues and gathering necessary documents via email to understand their situations fully. - Problem Solving: I conducted thorough research to find solutions, which may involve providing legal advice or simply informing clients about available agencies, support centers, and regulations that can assist them. - Advisory Role: Based on my findings, I offered tailored advice aimed at resolving their problems. This advice is not always strictly legal; often, it involves guiding clients to resources and support systems they were unaware of.

As a member of the Criminal Law Unit within our department, I was responsible for enhancing the professional development of my colleagues. I, alongside my fellow unit-members, designed and delivered workshops, courses, and training sessions on various aspects of criminal law, ensuring our team to stay informed and skilled. I also took over the role of the Editor-in-Chief, responsible for overseeing the quality and accuracy of all published content. Responsibilities:- Educational Development: Create and facilitate engaging workshops and courses tailored to criminal law.- Content Creation: Publish informative articles and updates on important legal developments and practical advice.
