Clinical Exercise Physiologist & Exercise Specialist with a focus on lifestyle change management and chronic & orthopedic conditions.

Client: Dromedaris ShoesI developed the framework, brand guidelines and guardrails for social media and the marketing channels. I developed a social media calendar and provided a digital strategy that streamlined the team's efforts and led to an increase in sales.

Client: SENTIA SpiritsI started off developing a messaging hierarchy that developed into brand guidelines and guardrails that encompassed every aspect of the business. I was included in think tanks of product launches, events, marketing, public relations, new product concepts as well as a subscription model which created a passive income for SENTIA Spirits. My role quickly expanded to take over other aspects of the business. SENTIA exploded and is now a multi-million pound company.

Client: Living with the Lions Sports TravelI started off where my responsibility was to edit photo's, draft copy and once approved, post to our social channels. Within 2 months, I had taken over the website management and started creating content while on International tour with them.

Client: Greenpoint Digital This project was to design the brand guidelines & guardrails and ultimately the framework for the website. This website framework was based on best practice using backward compatibility, mobile responsiveness and it was also SEO enabled.

I partnered with SSISA Academy, an online platform which is an off-shoot of SSISA, to define, develop and run an exercise-only program that is effective, safe, enjoyable and cost-effective with a specific focus on the content to be replicated at Affiliate sites. I provide the periodised programming, pre- and post- testing and reports as well as the delivery of online and onsite exercise classes. I have created further content with SSISA Academy to upskill trainers to be able to carry out this program at Affiliate sites while maintaining strict safety protocols, a solid scientific foundation as well as a high standard of work.I was responsible for outlining the marketing campaign and defining the steps needed to achieve an uptake of Shape-Up not only within SSISA but around the country. I was involved in the social media content development plan as well as the copy which I wrote using key information from scientific journals. This sparked my passion for marketing and digital strategy and has stood me in good stead.

I took additional fitness classes over and above my Healthy Weight which changed into Shape-Up HIIT Classes. This allowed me to work with a wide range of individual orthopaedic and chronic conditions within those classes which allowed me the opportunity to tweak exercises for each individual to ensure that each member can exercise safely & enjoyably.Cardiac Rehabilitation: Worked with mostly geriatrics with a cardiovascular condition so it was focussed on functional movements with controlled cardio. I introduced a spinning class where it was closely monitored but still enjoyable.Geriatric Exercise Classes: I worked with a group of folks who were all over the age of 75 and had a variety of comorbidities. We trained functional exercises that would translate into ease of activities of daily living. There was also a large focus on balance and agility.Elite Running Strength Classes: I worked in the GRUCOX Studio where we trained concentric and eccentric muscle actions on state-of-the-art bikes. My job was to ensure all the equipment was working, patient education, pain management and monitoring exertion scores so as to avoid burnout. I worked with Comrades runners to those who were just starting out.Kids Club: During the school holidays, I was part of the team that ran the kids holiday program which included sessions on the gym floor, outside and in the pool. The focus was on strength, balance, power, agility but also fun. This programme accommodated kids from the ages of 6-12.Swim Coaching Sessions: I trained a group of children aged 6-8 on the fundamentals of stroke and how to be water safe. This progressed to training the pool-based UCT swim training sessions. I worked in conjunction with another Biokineticist who did their land-based strength & conditioning.

I was offered the managerial role to run one of SSISA's most successful and biggest-grossing programs. I managed a team of Biokineticists as well as a multi-disciplinary team of Dieticians, Psychologists and Sleep Scientists. My role was client-facing as I learnt to manage client expectations and ensure value for money, satisfaction, client retention as well as creating a good client experience from the sign-up process to the actual exercise classes. I was also involved in collating the data from this program to assist Honours & Masters students through the University of Cape Town (UCT).

I was a Biokinetics Intern at SSISA Old Mutual, a corporate wellness gym, located in Pinelands with responsibilities at SSISA Newlands.

I coached the Westerford Girls U14 squad twice a week and we focussed on general fitness, strength & conditioning as well as sport-specific drills which I had learnt from my time at Stellenbosch University. This was a great opportunity as I was able to implement the training drills and skills that I acquired at Stellenbosch University. I also had the opportunity to umpire matches which was good practice to maintain my South African Level 1 Coach & Umpire Qualification.

I assist with admin for a PhD study through the University.

The group meets twice a week and all those with Parkinson's are welcome. We focus on postural correction, balance activities to avoid falls and functional exercises. It is also a social experience for those who attend so we try to make it as fun and interactive as possible while still ensuring it is beneficial. We aim to improve their quality of life and independence.

I drive a Suzuki and it has been branded to showcase that the Suzuki brand was voted Brand of the Year by cars.co.za for 2017-2018. We were provided weekly guidelines and we had to create and share some content based on that across a variety of social media platforms.

I coached the Olympus PSO (Private Student Organization within Stellenbosch University) squad twice a week where we did fitness training and sport-specific skills. I umpired practice matches and league matches. Olympus PSO were promoted to the elite league during the 2016 season which they hadn't competed in before.

I assisted in presenting the 1st and 2nd year, men and women's Practical Swimming module. This involved drawing up sessions focusing on technique and fundamental aspects of each stroke. I also coached them in starts, turns and finishes.

Stellenbosch University's Netball Practical module required practical hours during our 2nd & 3rd year of Sports Science. We planned sessions focusing on different aspects of the sport and presented them weekly. We spent a lot of time on gross motor functions and drills that incorporated these skills as well as teamwork.
