As Medical Director at Compassionate Care ALS, Suzana provides palliative care support to patients and families struggling with ALS, education to palliative care teams and hospices about ALS, mentors and teaches students at all stages of training (high school-medical student, residents, fellows) on tending to patients with ALS and other palliative needs. She has worked at community and academic medical centers as Chief and co-chief of palliative care (Unity Hospital, Rochester NY, Exeter Hospital, Exeter NH, UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, MA, and Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod) since completing her fellowship at San Diego Hospice & Palliative Care. During those years, she has a proven track record of leadership in healthcare quality, education, creative program development, medical humanities.She incorporates expertise in integrative medicine from a University of Michigan fellowship and the humanities into patient care and teaching.
