I graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) in International History and Politics, a field of study that sparked my interest in global affairs and justice. I have been working in policing for 29 years in three different Forces. I recently became the Detective Chief Superintendent at Gloucestershire Constabulary as Head of Crime,with responsibility for serious & complex investigations, Criminal Justice, Public Protection, Intelligence & Forensics. I have attained the highest level of professional accreditation in the UK for investigations; PIP 4, which demonstrates my expertise and competence in managing complex and serious crime investigations.In my previous role as Detective Superintendent & temporary Detective Chief Superintendent at Warwickshire Police, I was responsible for the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, the Major Investigation Unit, CID, Public Protection and Intelligence and other specialist units. I led a team of over 200 officers and staff, and oversaw multiple high-profile cases involving murder, human trafficking, drug dealing, and cybercrime. I applied my skills in PIP 3, the professional standard for serious and organised crime investigation in the counter terrorism field when I was a senior investigating officer in West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit. I ensured that we delivered effective and efficient outcomes for the victims, the public, and the justice system. I also collaborated with other forces, agencies, and partners to share best practices, resources, and intelligence. I am passionate about making a positive difference in the communities I serve, and I am committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability. I am always eager to learn new skills, embrace new challenges, and contribute to the strategic vision and goals of the organisation. I believe that I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to any team. I have been strategic lead for Violence Against Women & Girls since its inception and this is an area I am very driven and passionate about.
