The Specialist Autism Assessment Team is a tertiary service that assesses children for whom professionals within the community are uncertain as to the diagnosis or for whom there is disagreement as to the diagnosis. Families with complex difficulties are also seen. Responsibilities included assessment of children where concerns have been raised that they may have an Autism Spectrum Disorder, in conjunction with the Speech Pathologist and Paediatrician on the team.
