Leading clinical research and product development testing at our on-site clinic

Director of Clinical Research at a start-up medical device company with a disruptive and novel hearing aid technology. Responsible for managing all aspects of clinical research at an on-site facility to run safety and effectiveness studies to support regulatory applications, run marketing studies to support publication, and test product improvements prior to commercial launch. Team of 4 direct reports.

Study coordinator of clinical trials, including IRB and FDA approved protocols. Performed experimental apparatus set-up, subject testing, assisted physician, statistical analysis, organized monitoring activities, and extensive report-writing.

Designed and managed project from conception through implementation including project proposal, planning, revision, and completion, also presented data at national and international conferences. Developed proficiency in signal processing , especially as it relates to hearing and speech from physiology through perception, and performed all programming and signal processing related to project including simulating virtual reverberation and manipulating pitch contours of sentences. Programmed, conducted and analyzed results from psychophysical studies, including recruitment and scheduling of many normal- and hearing-impaired subjects (mild/moderate sensorineural loss).

Designed and constructed testing apparatus and analysis programs to perform hysteresis and stress relaxation tests on mouse slow and fast-twitch muscles after writing a successful grant. Performed microsurgery to isolate calf and toe muscles from mice after anaesthetization and practice of humane handling of lab animals following NIH guidelines
