I am a passionate leader in economic development and growth with extensive experience in supporting business development, expansion, and collaboration across all industries in Pinellas County, an urban county with over 1 million residents and 38,000+ businesses. My experience in economic development began in the Buffalo/Niagara region of New York, where I helped start an initiative to create 50,000 new jobs in the area. I brought together leaders from eight diverse counties and worked with them to establish plans and protocols that supported growth of the region.In my role with the Pinellas County Economic Development Council (PCED), I have been instrumental in creating over 13,000 new jobs that have resulted in a capital investment of $1.3 billion in the region. I advise and guide companies in applications for state and federal grants that have provided funds for employee trainings, commercial property development, economic resiliency plans, and export growth. My tremendous relationship management skills have allowed me to cultivate partnerships with key local, national, and international stakeholders to attract businesses to the area and support their growth and success.In addition to my success supporting the region in a professional capacity, I am also a proud citizen who is involved in the community. I am active in our local school and church communities, have volunteered as religious education teacher and with Meals on Wheels, and have worked closely with the Cub Scouts. Outside of our region, I volunteered to work with New Orleans businesses that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Katrina where I consulted with owners and employees to restructure their marketing and business plans.
