With a robust background in both lecturing and qualifications development in Education, namely Childhood Practice, my journey in the education sector is marked by a steadfast commitment to enriching learning experiences through technology. At Dundee and Angus College, my focus has been on leveraging e-learning and AI tools to enhance student engagement and outcomes. My efforts in qualifications development have been guided by my strong adherence to quality assurance and institutional compliance. The education landscape is continually evolving, and so have my competencies, particularly in integrating artificial intelligence into pedagogical practices. Presenting insights from my dissertation, I've contributed to shaping the dialogue around AI's role in education and have led initiatives to embed these innovations across the college. My approach prioritizes collaborative learning, ensuring that both students and colleagues are empowered to navigate and excel in a rapidly changing educational environment.

LecturerDundee And Angus College Aug 2010 - PresentScotland, United KingdomOver several years, I have led high-quality learning experiences across Education courses SCQF levels 1–8, engaging diverse learners, including High School/Senior Phase pupils, mature learners, and individuals at various life stages. My work reflects a commitment to teaching excellence, mentorship & educational innovation.I regularly interview students & have previously mentored new staff, introducing them to new systems & facilitating interactive sessions as well as arrange sessions provided by trained professionals, such as Bookbug (November 2018–present). I maintain strong links with the SQA, addressing queries, sharing best practices, & contributing to verification processes & events (December 2018–present). Notably, I presented written assessments to the SQA panel in person & via Teams, collaborated on revisions, & supported the accreditation of work, significantly shaping the new, national NC Childhood Practice qualification (June 2020–present).To enhance learner engagement, I contributed to the start-up of an outdoor classroom, enabling students to apply their skills in practical settings during placements (September 2020–present). I engage in reflective practice discussions with my line manager, supporting GTCS Professional Update requirements and alignment with Professional Lecturing Standards (November 2022).As part of my master’s dissertation, I presented research on AI to Childcare and Healthcare teams, forming an AI working group and laying groundwork for future policy development (August 2023). I also led workshops on “Demystifying Artificial Intelligence” at college-wide staff events, fostering understanding of AI in teaching and learning (August 2024). Though absent due to illness at a subsequent event, I was honoured to be invited again (November 2024).These efforts highlight my dedication to enhancing education through innovation, professional development, and collaborative contributions to national qualifications and institutional growth. -
