For the last 19 years I've worked in several dental practices, learning many new skills. Thoughout this time I gain various caring skills, from working in a fully private practice and an all NHS practice, which help me to become more confident in how interact with others and dealing with patients. I fully understand the importance of CPD, therefore I am fully up to date in meeting the annual requirements. I'm currently in my 2nd year cycle. I also abide by the GDC scope of practice at all times. I pride myself in ensuring the patient has a pleasant dental experience and therefore ensure I support the clinician with the clinical and non-clinical aspect and treatment planning. I feel it is vitally important for the patient to be fully informed about treatment costing where applicable, the involvement of treatment, oral hygiene aids and any questions which the patient may feel they want to ask.I believe it is important to support the clinician with both clinical and non-clinical aspects of treatment planning. It is really important to be approachable at all times, to make the patient as relaxed and comfortable as possible. My job is the day to day running of the surgery, keeping it organised and keeping the appointments to time with the dentist. I also make sure that patients are relaxed and understand the procedures that will be carried when they enter the surgery. When I'm not in the surgery I help out at reception, by answering the phones, making appointments and keeping the appointment books organised.
