The US Attorney represents the United States of America in civil and criminal litigation for the District of Oregon. The US Attorney's office provides leadership in the pursuit of justice and community safety with strong partnerships with all federal, state, and local agencies as well as the community. Integral to this mission is to foster public trust and confidence in law enforcement and the federal judicial system. My position is to draw upon those partnerships in the development and implementation of the Attorney General's smart on crime initiatives and action plan for the District of Oregon. Those initiatives and strategies support the following goals:-ensure finite resources are devoted to the most important law enforcement priorities;-promote fairer enforcement of the laws and alleviate disparate impacts of the criminal justice system-ensure just punishments for low-level, nonviolent convictions-bolster prevention and reentry efforts to deter crime and reduce recidivism-strengthen protections for vulnerable populations

As Executive Director of the Citizens Crime Commission I help chart the strategy and work plan for the volunteer board of business leaders who serve as the Board of Directors. I run the day to day operations of the organization and serve as the public spokesperson. I manage the relationships with our public safety partners and conduct outreach to the business community for support and engagement in the important public safety issues in our community.

The majority of my professional career has been spent as Prosecuting Attorney for the Multnomah County District Attorneys office. Over the course of my career I prosecuted misdemeanor and felony criminal cases as well as dependency and delinquency petitions. Original member of the Multnomah County Multidisciplinary Team developing, recommending and implementing more effective approaches to investigate and prosecute in-family child abuse criminal and dependency cases. Collaborated with the Department of Human Services’ Child Abuse Hotline, and child abuse investigators assigned from PPB and Gresham, OSP and MCSO police agencies. Served as Portland neighborhood prosecutor, a unique law enforcement unit designed to collaborate with police and citizens to reduce crime and improve livability in Portland’s downtown core. Responsible prosecutor for “Operation North Star” drug interdiction missions involving FBI, INS, Probation and Parole, TRI-MET and Portland Police on the downtown Portland bus mall. Developed written partnership agreements between police and businesses in a cooperative approach to reduce street-level drug dealing.
