As the founder of muk mat, an Australian-made, eco-friendly, grass mat that keeps sand and dirt outside, I am dedicated to providing outdoor enthusiasts with a solution to a common problem. With over 15 years of experience in sales and management, I started muk mat in 2017 to help others enjoy their time outside without worrying about the inconvenience of sand and dirt.As someone who grew up on the beach and spent every day in the water, I've always been a water baby at heart. When I became a mum and had my first son in 2005, I took up surfing and found that nothing brought me more joy than riding the waves with my family. But as soon as we left the beach, the sand and dirt became a constant problem.By the time my second son arrived, we were always outdoors, whether we were surfing, camping, mountain biking, or doing triathlons. With two boys, I knew that life was going to get busy and messy, so I was always on the lookout for ways to make our adventures more enjoyable and less of a hassle.That's when I came up with the concept for muk mat, an innovative solution to the problem of sand and dirt getting everywhere. I started with a DIY prototype that we took with us everywhere, from the beach to the kids' footy games. Every time I rolled out the mat, people approached me to ask where they could get one, and I realized that there was a huge demand for a product like this.It's been incredibly rewarding to see the delight our customers get from using muk mat and knowing that we've provided a solution to a common problem faced by outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.As someone who is passionate about surfing, camping, and spending time in nature, I'm thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives of families like mine who love the outdoors.
