Reports to the Director and guides 9 direct reports while overseeing the daily operations and servicing of Underwriting (FHA/VA, Conventional & Jumbo loans). Leads team in resolving deficiencies, ensuring operational efficiency, and performance. ▪ Partnered with the Mortgage Delivery team and leadership to ensure exceptional customer experiences by resolving escalated priorities and delivering solution-focused outcomes.▪ Provided direction and mentorship to the Underwriting team optimizing productivity and efficiencies to meet SLAs; oversaw processes to ensure quality and that UW functions were aligned with goals. ▪ Evaluated highly complex finance and credit information to verify loans were underwritten following underwriting standards, and risk management factors, and within established internal, investor, and federal guidelines.▪ Served as the SME for underwriting properties with leased solar panels to develop a systematized policy and training video on SOPs for UW that was distributed across the organization.▪ Responded to scenario-based questions and covered/cleared conditions to complete escalations for UWs and sales associates; acted as a liaison with clients, loan officers, and staff to facilitate efficient loan closings.▪ Positioned the company to handle an influx of government FHA/VA loans by facilitating 1:1 remote training to prepare UWs across the nation to obtain DE and SAR certifications. ▪ Reduced loan deficiencies by scheduling weekly update calls to review policy and procedures, agency changes, and reviewed findings from collaboration with other teams across the West Coast. ▪ Spearheaded the Jumbo UW team to support new product offerings by working with Managers, Directors, and across the enterprise for functional training; successful implementation led to training being standardized nationwide. ▪ Prepared financial and team performance dashboard reports for leadership to provide insight into daily activities and performance statistics.
