Primarily responsible for the oversight and execution of regulatory and legal compliance for the company’s employee benefit programs and policies. This included but was not limited to the Company’s medical, dental, reimbursement, COBRA, 401k, equity, ESPP, wellness, disability, life, EAP and adoption assistance programs. Responsibilities included all welfare and retirement plan audits (internal and external), preparation of governmental filings (including 5500’s) and ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations impacting our welfare and retirement programs including, but not limited to, ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA, FMLA, ACA and SOX regulations.

Responsibilities included planning, implementing, communicating and administering all employee benefit and equity plans and/or programs, both domestic and global. Ensuring all plans/programs operated in compliance with the terms of the program/plan documents and all applicable laws and regulations governing these plans (domestically and abroad). This role was responsible for working with the Benefits Committee to develop a benefit strategy and interacted with business leaders to ensure understanding of the overall strategy, plans and programs. Additional responsibilities included ensuring benefit plans and programs were kept current with regard to design, practices and costs and was responsible for the negotiation of coverage, services and costs related to insurance carriers, third party administrators, consultants and/or brokers; setting and monitoring budgets for all benefit programs (total program costs were in excess of 25M annually), was responsible for implementation and communication of all new benefit enhancements and programs.

Prepared and managed the termination of a frozen defined benefit plan.
