Teacher-Librarian with 18 years experience in grades pre-K through 12, mostly in 8th and 9th grade. I enjoy reading and helping students express themselves with clear writing. Throughout my career I've had the opportunity to serve as Department Head, served in leadership roles in the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association. I enjoy professional development and the opportunity to learn new skills to help my students achieve success. I have advised many clubs, taken students to state competitions in Science and Business. My favorite student activities are the Reading Team/Book Club and our school's Competitive Chess Team and Chess Club. I seek out unusual fundraisers to bring new things to the community. I can't NOT stop at at Trader Joe's when I see one and I am a soup dumpling fanatic. While I miss working in TV news, I feel my timing skills and ability to juggle multiple pieces has helped prepare me for teaching pre and post pandemic. After years of working nights, overnights, weekends and early mornings I appreciate the consistency of a teaching schedule.
