This is done as part of a project team.I have been involved in tech transfer, process establishment, process development, process characterisation and process scale-up to GMP manufacture.The role involves: aseptic techniques, media/solution preparation, microbial cell culture; at shake flask up to 100L scale (including: carbon feeding, use of MFCS, induction), sample processing (optical density, purity, TVC and plasmid retention), SDS-PAGE; reduced and non-reduced, analysing and presenting data to customers and peers using Microsoft excel and office, experiment write-ups using Microsoft word and fermentation process reports for customers covering development work, scale-up or GMP manufacture.My current role is as the main operator of the TAP Biosystems ambr250 system. I have worked with this system from trialing a demo unit in 2012 to now. I composed the expenditure proposal for the ambr250 unit from the data provided by the trial unit and from compiling cost for cost analysis with other systems/scales. As a result of this I have been involved in Laboratory re-design and equipment installation and have been part of a design for six sigma project. I have also had to create work instructions, protocols and training scripts for the system.Extra responsibilities within the lab: SAP ordering, 5s champion, ambr250 equipment owner, Laboratory area manager.Training courses undertaken: Improving Customer Awareness, Effective Communication Skills, Yellow Belt training, good research, project and documentation practices, Statistical analysis, Design Expert / DoE training and ambr250 application training.
