Suzanne Ship Email and Phone Number
I am a former Education Consultant, providing leadership coaching and communications training. I have recently returned from working in South East Asia and am privileged to have been appointed as one of the Directors on the Board of Trustees for Amadeus Multi- Academy Trust in Kent. I have various publications with major educational publishers. I have written, reviewed and edited education pathways for Oxford University Press and was commissioned to create a series of bite- sized videos for teachers new to middle leadership to a global network of schools. I have delivered training on reading skills to teachers in Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia and also taught communication skills to SIA crew on a regular basis in Singapore. I was also Programme Manager for International Languages Pte, Singapore, leading their curriculum development and training to both established and new clients. As Headteacher (Principal) of Engayne Primary School, a large (630+) primary school in London, I led the school to its Outstanding status (Ofsted 2011) and followed this to the award of National Teaching School status in 2012 and became a ‘National Leader of Education’ (NLE). In March 2013 I was presented with the prestigious ‘Leadership in Education’ award by the president of the National Head Teachers' Association. Under my leadership of the school, Engayne became a lead school for ICT, having achieved the ICT Mark twice , and in 2009 the prestigious Becta ICT Excellence Award for Leadership, Management and Collaboration. The many visitors to Engayne included Japanese Ministry of Education delegates, who visited the school regularly over five years to look at a range of leadership themes, including ICT. As a member of the management board of the National Outstanding Primary Schools SCITT, I played an integral part in developing its strategic vision and have regularly delivered training to large numbers of teacher trainees and mentors. My specialisms include leadership development, school improvement, teacher training, mentoring and coaching. A keen French speaker, I would also include rugby and travel as personal interests, both of which have been utilised to broaden the breadth of experience for both teachers and pupils.
