I write and edit news and feature stories, specializing in health and science. My articles have been published on Wired.com, WebMD, Medscape, CBS Healthwatch, The Texas Observer, The Austin Bulldog, Ms. magazine, and Women's eNews. I've written and produced audio broadcasts for the public-radio science series "Earth and Sky" and for "HealthLine Texas," the Texas Medical Association's consumer health series. I write and edit professional interactive courses (nursing, most recently) and student and teacher materials for educational publishers.

Beginning in 2006, I copy edited K-12 educational materials (as a contractor) for HMH in science, mathematics, language arts, American and English literature, and social studies. For HMH's interactive science series "Virtual Investigations," I worked with a team of instructional designers and Flash animators to complete labs in earth science, chemistry, life sciences (biology, zoology), and physics.

Working in product development with a team of instructional designers, subject matter experts, and writers, I copy edited storyboard scripts, onscreen text, tests, and quizzes for the Odyssey High School II series: courses in chemistry, physics, algebra II, trigonometry, English and American literature, U.S. and world history, for release June 2009. Also, copy-edited social studies and science tests and quizzes, April 2010.
