Lead role in the management of a 12 department IDC (FHCSIA, Health, Veterans’ Affairs, ATO, Treasury, Finance, AGIMO, PM&C, DEEWR, DBCDE, Human services, AG’s and Privacy Commission) and the provision of associated advice to departments and ministers regarding opportunities for improving government service delivery using improved information technologies. Major work steams of the IDC over which I had responsibility included: improving whole of government coordination and alignment in health and social services, improving citizen trust in the exchange of information with government, better use of technology to deliver services, analyse outcomes and to more rapidly respond to feedback. This also involved extensive dialogue with privacy and data protection advocacy groups as well as federal and state regulators and community groups.
