About Suzanne Scheffler

After obtaining my Master's in Elementary Education and 6th Year Degree in Educational Technology for UCONN's Neag School of Education, I began my career teaching kindergarten and then first grade. In 2003, I left the traditional classroom to teach math and technology for Vernon Regional Adult Based Education. This new career path inspired me to return to school once more in order to obtain my certification in Secondary Mathematics. I was quickly given a job as an online mentor for a students, which eventually let to my being the Online Coordinator for VRABE and work in conjunction with Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium. I eventually began teaching PreAlgebra and Algebra for CTDLC while also managing VRABE's credit diploma program and developing courses via Odysseyware for their blended learning program, which is continuing to grow. I also headed their Financial Literacy, STEM, and 21st Century Skills grant.In 2013 I accepted a contract with Vschoolz, which has led to a variety of course building opportunities including kindergarten math, GED, Music Appreciation, and College and Career Readiness Skills in mathematics. This also opened me up to more online teaching opportunities. Since that time I have consulted as a writer, edit, content specialist, and course developer. I have had the honor to work with such companies as Six Red Marbles, Pearson, K12, Calvert, Michigan Virtual University, Realizeit, Learning Bird, and LearnBop. I am also have worked as a course facilitator and course review chair for Quality Matters. Presently, I work for Quality Matters as the K-12 Program Manager. I enjoy working in cooperation with a number of amazing online schools and course providers. I also have the honor of meeting other professionals who share my passion for online learning.
