I am the founder of Nevada Narratives, an on-line magazine/blog, at www.nevadanarratives.com. I am the administrator, editor, principal writer, and social media director for the site. I create bulletins and the newsletter for my employer.I also occasionally blog about Recovery and Rehabilitation from Traumatic Injury or Illness . My interest in the topic is both personal and professional. I am in the process of writing a patient's guide book to the getting through this trauma. It will include tips I learned during a long recovery and hospitalization as well as research on the topic.Teaching and Assessment ExperienceI gained my assessment content developing experience as an assessment editor for a major academic testing company.As a professional educator, I taught 8th grade through college classes with a focus on developing a project-based participatory style. Maintained a very high retention rate in my college classes.Taught students to blog and use Google Docs to work individually and collaboratively on projects. This system increased student participation by 70%.Designed, wrote and presented courses in history and sociology for face-to-face and distance learning classes.
