Teaching Design Pathways with the Design Foundations program

I began teaching at Algonquin several years ago in the School of Continuing Education, where I developed one of the first Continuing Ed web site design programs. Courses developed and taught included HTML, Dreamweaver, Web Video, and Writing for the Web. I developed the Web Media course at the request of the program coordinator, and it became one of the most popular courses in the program.In 2010 I was hired by the School of Part Time Studies to help develop the brand new Social Media Certificate Program. I developed the Digital Communication online course, the Applied Social Media for Business online course, and the Intro To Social Media Blended course.I was a curriculum developer and program coordinator in the School of Continuing and Online Learning, for the Digital Analytics, Social Media, Social Media Compliance Management and Mobile and UX Design Certificate programs. I also have taught Project Management Skills and Digital Graphics in the Interactive Media Developer program. More recently, I have taught in the Public Relations program. I was a web content developer for a ground-breaking interactive portal for the Nortel Networks Optical networks software development community. I also produced online training and worked in corporate communications. I was hired by Inner Action to teach Web Video, and HTML, and was a certified instructor for Macromedia Dreamweaver. I became the Program Coordinator for Inner Action’s first ever Digital Media Developer program, one of the first programs of its kind at the time. I also developed training materials for the original release of XStream Software’s e-Learning tool, RapidBuilder, and at that time was the only certified RapidBuilder instructor in North America.
