• Inventorying by accurately managing the bankruptcy process• Communicating with attorneys, court appointed trustees and borrowers to answer questions related to the bankruptcy file. • Ensuring full compliance with federal codes and RESPA guidelines• Interpreting legal proceedings -pleading motions and loan documents. • Authenticating critical dates and review electronic court dockets for updated case status.• Handling a limited portfolio of loans in bankruptcy in accordance with client, company, investor, state, government agency, and Bankruptcy Code guidelines• Mitigating loss and legal risk by accurately managing the bankruptcy process• Reviewing and interpreting all documents (legal & otherwise) including loan documents, bankruptcy plans & schedules, dockets, pleadings, etc.• Verifying critical dates and reviewing electronic court docket for updated case status• Promptly determining when attorney action and advice is required• Processing new filings and correctly closing loans out of bankruptcy• Promptly reviewing and responding to communications (phone, email, client & company systems, and written correspondence) from the various parties involved in the bankruptcy process (clients, attorneys, and trustees)• Ensure that escrowed and non-escrowed items are paid timely.• Identify and resolve tax, insurance and escrow exceptions• Work with vendors and internal departments to ensure data related to all escrow functions handled is completed timely and accurately
