As the Academy & Learning Practice Lead, I bring governance education to Canadian boardrooms. I help organizations perform better by equipping directors and management teams with the knowledge needed to add value in the boardroom. WATSON Academy curates meaningful content on practical governance matters, and develops curriculum that will equip directors with the tools to meet the changing needs of boards. September 2018 - September 2022: Responsible for firm operational oversight including firm Marcom and leading new client systems implementation project (CRM, applicant tracking system for executive and board search practice).

As Vice-President of Marketing & Communications, I led a full-service marketing team (communications, public relations, product development, creative direction, market intel). I was responsible for developing the corporate marketing strategy and implementing innovative marketing plans to create a distinctive brand and provide clear value in the market with particular focus on the building and development market. As a member of the executive team, I was charged with not only designing and driving a broad marketing strategy but also sharing responsibility in the overall stewardship and financial health of the business. I was directly responsible for guiding the brand to be the top and the most recognizable North American brand of floor heating. Our product was regularly featured in the press and included in some of North America’s most prestigious condo and hotel developments in the US and Canada. One of the last major projects was the development and CES launch of North America’s first wifi-enabled floor heating thermostats. The strong brand and our marketing acumen weighed heavily in the successful sale of the company to a global strategic buyer. In the year post acquisition, I was involved in the corporate integration as well as introducing Nuheat Mats to the UK market.
