As part of CIPR Scotland events team, I helped organise a number of successful events for public relations professionals, liaising with editors and other relevant speakers, booking venues,organising catering and using Eventbright to manage the events.

Writing copy for campaigns for the website and social media. Writing and distributing e-newsletters. Writing press releases. Assisting with marketing.

During my time at The Law Society of Scotland I built up a wealth of experience working with colleagues, Council and committee members, to promote the work of the society and Scotland's 12,000 solicitors.My role included communicating complex issues to media and solicitors such as legal aid and education and training, as well as contributing to e-bulletins, the Journal of the Law Society and the website.I was responsible for media training 60 solicitors and colleagues with a training programme which I co-wrote. I also managed budget and headed up the media office for three months.I was appointed Media Relations Officer in 2000, and worked my way up to Communications Manager.
