Created and managed strategic partnerships between KSC, Industry, Academia, and Gov't entities. Collaborations included $36 M State funding to enhance KSC capabilities and incentivize industry for future exploration/space business and other technology development initiatives; Exploration technology development partnership between Harris and KSC Engineering Directorate; and COTS launch & landing operations and facilities requirements.Identified emerging issues/trends affecting NASA, KSC, and aerospace industry - AIAA Space Transportation TC: Strategic Task Force member - assessed 2004 US Space Transportation Policy impacts - expressed need to fill STS-CEV gap. Supported Center assigned current/future program activities in anticipation of Shuttle/Station close out and emergence of Constellation program. Managed partnerships, developed requirements and implementation plans, secured resources. Projects included: NOAA US Climate Reference Network and KSC Visitor Site Evaluation.

Single-point-of-contact for all new non-programmatic launch operations, and large-scale technology development and test activities at KSC and CCAFS. Advised CD, 45SW Cdr, and senior management team on Spaceport operations/development strategic planning activities/analyses. Developed KSC impact assessments of Administration and Agency policy and planning, and developed approaches in response to Agency objectives. Interfaced with NASA Headquarters, other NASA Centers/government entities, industry, and academia to identify potential collaboration partners in areas of common interest (FAA). Developed short and long-range Center plans for KSC/CCAFS Spaceport operations. Cultivated new KSC strategic work opportunities by planning and coordinating numerous business partnership meetings between NASA, Industry, DoD, Academia, and other Federal & State entities. Created, coordinated, and integrated all necessary agreements for projects up to $600,000. Customers included the FAA, KSC, Lockheed-Martin, the FL Air National Guard, MSFC, and NOAA. Advanced Spaceport and Range Technology Working Groups: Produced concept of operations for future successful commercial spaceports. Developed near and far-term strategic technology roadmaps - identified technology gaps for future spaceport goals.

Co-chaired Agency's TPS Shuttle Upgrades team with JSC. Led KSC/Contractor team in determining R&D technology objectives; prepared, presented, and won proposals for up to $600,000. Developed multi-center & industry partnerships. Successfully negotiated with JSC for testing normally performed by design center to be performed by KSC. Managed 3 successful inter-center project teams on TPS materials/processing changes Coordinated project implementation with Shuttle Program Office. Coordinated press release and interviews and presented results at International conference.

Senior NASA KSC technical expert on TPS Waterproofing Out gassing Incident Assessment Team. Coordinated/managed design, production, and implementation of new monitoring system. Negotiated with KSC TPS Flow Director and Shuttle system/project engineers on critical activities to meet Vehicle turnaround.

Government chair of the annual Space Congress/SpaceCom Conference.Work with team to create program, provide speakers, and run conference. Work all conference coordination/integration actions regarding NASA speakers, and KSC exhibits and civil servant, participation.

Member of AIAA Space Transportation Technical Committee (STTC) since 2000, consisting of national/international aerospace professionals. Provided engineering, economic development, and outreach expertise in the creation of products, i.e. Vehicle Launch Guide. Co-hosted Joint Propulsion Conference with Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. Coordinated visits to Kennedy Space Center for national and international guests. Coordinated and ran “Operations of Spaceports and Ranges” panel at AIAA Space Conferences where attendees learned new KSC and SF spaceport operations and initiatives, AF and FAA initiatives and processes, and lessons-learned from other State spaceports (CA, VA, AK, NM, OK) to use for future needs. As Strategic Task Force member, assessed 2004 US Space Transportation Policy impacts where determined need to fill STS-CEV gap. Member of AIAA Technical Committee on Management since 2007, consisting of managers and executives from NASA, Industry, Academia, DOD/other Gov’t., including NASA’s Associate Administrator, ARMD’s Associate Director, and LaRC’s Associate Director. Perform National Anthem and other patriotic songs for launches and events for NASA, AIAA, Astronaut Memorial Foundation, Space Walk of Fame Foundation, National Space Club and others. Sang in husband’s band, “Hot Tropics”, from 2011-2012…Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, etc. Sang back-ups in worship band from 2000-2006. Occasionally lead church worship and sing at National Day of Prayer, other events.

Member of Space FLorida Board Spaceport Operations Subcommittee: Intergovernmental board of managers and executives from KSC, Industry, Academia, 45th Space Wing, FAA, other gov’t etc. Provided NASA and DoD range and spaceport operations and economic expertise on Space FL Strategic Business Plan, “CASPER”, etc... As KSC SF Liaison, led intergovernmental transition team effort between KSC, FL Space Authority/FL Space Research Institute/FL Aerospace Finance Corporation, Space FL and the Governor’s Office, ensuring all KSC interests (technology, facilities) addressed.

Allison Gas Turbine In Indianapolis, Indiana

Performed and analyzed altitude performance test results on the T56-A 427 gas turbine aircraft engine. Created a logistics log to track turbine blades and vanes for various engines and provided Project Managers testing, fabrication, and installation progress. Provided expertise in turbine blade crack investigation via dye penetrant testing. Managed program that determined areas where recycling could increase efficiency/sustainability and decrease operating cost, including paper, aluminum and carbide. Presented progress to company President/CEO who approved continuing current and starting new initiatives.
