Suzy Gooch has been the Met’s digital media and technology leader since she launched the Met's first website in 1996. She directed site redesigns in 2004, 2006, 2015, and 2018 and launched Met Opera on Demand, a video on demand subscription service, in 2008. In 2024 she launched the Met’s app. Suzy has developed successful digital strategies and managed diverse platforms and teams to take advantage of emerging technologies as well as changing regulations.Suzy produced Metropolitan Opera engagements and U.S. tours for companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet and Opera, the Mariinsky Ballet and Opera, The Royal Ballet and Opera, Paris Opera Ballet, Grand Kabuki, the Royal Danish Ballet, as well as events including the 1999 and 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, the 2000 and 2003 NBC Upfront Primetime Previews, Disney's Symphonic Fantasy, Tony Bennett, and An Evening with Sting. She produced “The Metropolitan Opera Presents” telecasts of Parsifal, The Ghosts of Versailles and La Fanciulla del West. Prior to 1987 Suzy held production management positions for companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet and Opera, Stuttgart Ballet and events such as the International Diamond Jubilee Tribute to Sol Hurok. In addition she was a production manager for President Carter’s Inaugural Eve Gala simulcast by CBS, the Star Spangled Gala, Liberty Weekend, the Democratic National Committee fundraiser with Diana Ross, the Mark Taper Forum, the Spoleto Festival, CBS Sports, ABC Sports and the 1984 Olympics. Suzy provided management consulting services to La Mama, Theatre Development Fund and Arts & Entertainment Network.
