In an Agile team with BI-specialists and DB engineers (Scrum/kanban) I'm conducting requirement analyses and make minor changes to dashboards. I am responsible for managing and improving the performance (KPI) dashboarding for MT and the board. Restructuring the business reviews to be more data driven. Most of the work in the first year will be in data availability and the building of dashboards. This is mainly done in PowerBi, but some legacy reports are still maintained in Business Objects. And the one-offs are done directly in tsql. Once the foundation work is done, the restructuring of minds and data driven work is going to be introduced.Also, next to the core business, I'm creating value by starting new initiatives trying to find value using AI in public transport. Also I'm participating in restructuring projects and advising tender in long term revenue projection.

As a business analyst for the commerce department, I’m working on passenger behavior and revenues. I created multiple reports which I periodically send out to management and the board with a short explanation and interpretation of the KPI’s and numbers. Next to this I’m mostly researching questions which don’t fit the regular reporting dashboards concerning passenger behavior and revenues. For this I’m using multiple MSSQL database tables containing hundreds of millions of records.Next to this I’m working for the IJssel-Vecht concession with research into the punctuality of the bus drivers and I worked on an improvement proposal. Together with bus drivers and the operational management an improvement program was made which is supposed to significantly increase the level of service.I’m also involved in multiple tenders in which I’m working on long term passenger behavior and give general support to the other members of the tender team.I’m supervising a post master EngD trainee who is working on an AI algorithm which will help in projecting a more accurate number of passengers on the bus stop level. This project was nominated as a top project in the Keolis international innovation awards 2022.The past few years I have guest lectured in the master course “Public Transport modelling” at Twente University with a lecture about “Public Transport in practice”

For Syntus I analyzed the public transport network region of Twente by using a method developed by Keolis; Neolis. The method is designed to give insight in the way public transport is organized in a region. By using demographic data, specialized data from research companies, travel data and time tables, the region and the current network is ranked by effectiveness or profitability for a public transport service. The results were used in the decision making process on the new time tables starting December 2016.For this project I was working closely with partners from Keolis Sweden and France, the University of Twente, research companies and the PTA. The analysis is done by using complex calculation sheets, MapInfo and arcGIS.Next to this project I analyzed the punctuality data and conducted several experiments on punctual driving with a group of drivers. Using the information gathered I created a new tool for reporting on punctuality, which can be used internally as well as for easier reporting according to the standards of the PTA.Between October 2016 and September 2018 I worked on visualising public transport data and travel patterns, in a Post-Masters EngD traineeship at the University of Twente.

As a EngD (at the time called 'PDEng') Trainee for Syntus/Keolis I combined a post MSc. educational program (50%) with a technological design project (50%). In the design part of the program I developped a web based decision support system which combines data from different open and closed sources to get a better insight in travel behavior of people.
