We had developed the first real travel marketplace. Here, trips, accommodations and events could be found and advertised at the same time, so that a holistic trip could be created and regional providers could be found. Technologically the system was developed and was fully operational and interfaced with existing payment and booking systems. As it was not a copycat of an existing business model (AirBnB was very unknown at that time and covered only a small part of our solution), not enough funds could be found in Germany to market it.
