About Svend Andreas Horgen
Project leader for a two year project about MOOC (massive open online courses) in 2014 and 2015. Teacher in the MOOC-course "IKT i læring" (15 studiepoeng/credits), see http://aitel.hist.no/fag/iktlmooc/ for more information. Public speaker on several seminars and conferences on "Web 2.0", "pedagogical use of ICT", "e-learning" and "digital tests". I enjoy to share my experiences and learn from others. Assistant professor with special responsibility for all distance education in ICT at Sor-Trondelag University College (40 courses in ICT). Author of the first Norwegian book on PHP programming, 408 pages (Gyldendal Akademisk/TISIP) in 2004. Very good understanding of several aspects of ICT, in particular programming, web and social media. Have created several courses and learning material on these issues. Several years of experience from e-learning through both distance education and classroom teaching in higher education. A broad range of practically minded research on e-learning and pedagogical use of ICT. Central in the development of a web-based tool for using multiple choice tests in education. Project leader and participant in several e-learning projects. I enjoy writing. I enjoy creating. I enjoy producing. My goal is high quality material, be it for learning, research, personal usage or just for fun. I often put my soul into my projects, and therefore find myself learning new things all the time. I am inspired by the "Web 2.0-way", creating, producing, organizing and sharing using blogs, wikis, YouTube and more to support my work. Efficiency and quality is important. If I were to change job sometime, I would like to be able to use my creative skills and my understanding on ICT/Web 2.0 to produce, develop and learn. At present, I am working from Skien, but am employed in Trondheim. Working this way on a distance is very interesting and helps me better understand how to use Web 2.0-tools in a productive way.
