- I investigated "the structural analysis and design of a hybrid composite - concrete floor system". Almost 40 real-scale hybrid beams and 4 hybrid floors (3-m-span) are tested under static loading after which a full-scale fire test is performed. The recorded structural behaviour (load-deflection, strains) of all tests is compared to analytical predictions. This analytical simulation is performed in Matlab and afterwards used as a basis for further multi-objective optimisation of the hybrid floor cross-section.- During my PhD, I also teached four different courses at Vrije Universiteit Brussel: Design of concrete structures (1MA), Building materials (3BA), Mechanics of materials and constructions (2BA), Technology project (2BA)- Thesis supervisor (four master students)
