I am a multi-skilled Mechanical Engineer (MSc.Eng) with R&D experience managing state-of-the-art technical projects in the aerospace, automotive, renewable energy and test and measurement sectors. With PWR Advanced Cooling Technology I am working to bring new and innovative thermal management products to the aerospace and defense markets.I have worked as a thermometry scientist with ISO17025 accreditation where I developed new measurement and calibration systems for laboratories, with a focus on contact and radiation thermometry and mass equipment.Projects included:- Joule Chamber, a newly patented mechanical energy storage device - Watt Balance, in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory in the UK, for the redefinition of the kilogram SI Unit- Noble metal thermocouples- Portable temperature controlled oven- Cryogenic, turbo-vacuum and inert gas handling systems with automation- Automated control of process instrumentation- Commissioned and wrote procedures for new capital equipment- Consulted on the establishment and expansion of laboratory infrastructure and quality systemsI sat on the Specialist Technical Committee for Temperature in SA, reviewed applicants for the National Laboratory Association METCERT professional registration, facilitated the training of international metrologists and consulted on setting up ISO17025 national laboratories. I was previously employed as a Research Engineer, and developed an automated regional solar monitoring network (www.SAURAN.ac.za).
