As the Softwood Group Manager of the Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) Sven assists the members in all issues related to international sales and marketing. Sven is the Director of the Montréal Wood Convention (www.montrealwoodconvention.com), a major industry trade event organized in collaboration with industry associations across Eastern Canada.He brings a solid experience from international wood product markets to the QWEB member companies, including:• Sales and marketing expertise that spans the wood products markets in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. • Wood trade logistics, insurance, contracting, tariffs, certification and market access issues such as phytosanitary regulations. • Detailed knowledge of the resource base and production conditions in different regions of the world. Insight in strength and weaknesses within the forest products industry in different parts of the world.• New wood products, technical approvals and accreditations.Before joining the QWEB, he worked 10 years with softwood lumber production, sales and exports in Sweden and Japan. He managed international marketing during 5 years for one of the major exporters in Eastern Canada. Sven Gustavsson holds an M. Sc. Degree in Forestry and Wood Transformation from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala.
