Sven Mauleon, from Sweden mainly spent his professional career abroad, Europe, West and East as well as SE Asia, as a management consultant working for companies, organizations and governments including the UN. Sven Mauleon was a pioneer in Eastern Europe during the transformation from communism to market economies. He has worked in Hungary, Poland, the Baltics and Russia. He helped develop the successful Masters in Marketing program, MIM, at the Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand, designing and lecturing two courses; competitive strategy and international marketing.He was the head of a European consulting firm in Bruxelles, Belgium, focusing on inter European cooperation and R & D projects. He helped design and implement a successful IT training program, for academics, SWIT, in Sweden, funded by the government.In 2001 he designed and funded pilot projects; computer training, in Thailand and in 2002 he founded OpenmindProjects (together with Gaweechat Joompaula) an aid, education and volunteer NGO, training local people and inviting international volunteers to participate in education, community development, eco-tourism and conservation projects in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal.OpenmindProjects has since been recognized by UNESCO, CNN, the Lonely Planet, and a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge Award for outstanding ICT for development. In 2013 Openmind Projects won the Tourism Authority Award in ‘the Little Big Project’ promoting responsible volunteering in Thailand (gaining over one million votes on its volunteers' blogs).As chairman of Openmind Projects Sven Mauleon focus on cross culture ex pat, volunteer and management training and Openmind Projects organizational development, including designing models for small cost effective learning centers based on online learning for rural children and students in SE Asia.
