Currently I am working for Oracle in the ACS-AMR team, which provides remote support and administration for servers within customer environments. As the PSE for my customers I am responsible for the supported soft- and hardware and ensure that incidents and changes are managed efficiently. To achieve this I liaise with all involved tiers and teams as well as third party suppliers. As the customer facing technical lead I stay on top of the technologies involved and like to take a hands on approach when implementing changes or troubleshooting incidents. Keeping the internal knowledgebase up to date and accurate is also a part of my job which I enjoy.The environment includes Exadata, Sun M and T Series servers, Solaris (Geo) Cluster, Oracle, RAC, OCI

Support and administration of Web, Mail, Oracle, NFS, application servers based on Solaris and Red Hat running on Sparc or x86 hardware or as virtual hosts in Solaris Zones or VMWare. VCS, VxVM, SDS, Oracle clustering. Basic Oracle administration. Development of plans for upgrades and configuration changes. Implementation of these. Support and administration of a large estate of servers.Documentation of processes, technical solutions and configurations.In house specialist for all issues VCS and VxVM

Technical support for business critical & regular customers, globally & through all time zones., working to defined SLAs, managing workload by prioritising to business needs, building customer relationships. Liaison with third party technicians for troubleshooting of multi-vendor installations. Often high pressure support of 24/7 production clustered systems. Software support on mainly Solaris but also Linux (RHEL and SLES), AIX, HPUX of Storage Foundation, including: Veritas Cluster Server Veritas Volume Manager Veritas Filesystem Veritas Volume Replicator SF for Oracle RACExposure to EMC, HDS and other storages and associated infrastructure: Fibre Channel, FC-Switches, HBAs, SCSI. Some exposure to Oracle and other databases and applications. In house problem reproduction to assist with diagnosis when required: Writing of internal documentation (Technotes). Extensive internal training, VCP certification

24/7 remote monitoring/reactive administration of Solaris hosts for GY Admin/rac.de. Worked to defined SLAs for incoming alerts and requests. Played a vital role in setting up the team – developed procedures, organized communication, created technical and process related documentation, wrote technical tests. Involved in hiring process (testing and evaluating applicants) and training of new colleagues. Wrote training documentation and plans. Rac.de includes troubleshooting and administration tasks of VxVM, Sun VM/SDS, Sun Cluster, NetBackup, Legato Networker, NIS, NFS, DHCP, Sun Servers up to SF25k, storages up to HDS SE9970 and configuration of internal mail based monitoring software.Extensive Sun internal training, SCSA/SCNA certification

Thinkpad hardware support via phone/email, troubleshooting, problem determination and solution on Windows. Worked to defined SLAs.
