Originally from Switzerland, I am currently a student-athlete at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, where I have the opportunity to channel my dreams and goals on the tennis court by playing on the men’s tennis team at NCAA Division I level while also pursuing my passion and interest in psychology.My journey as a tennis player and my current experience as a student-athlete who juggles a rigorous schedule of athletic and academic commitments has shaped me into an organized, disciplined, and goal-orientated person. The various challenges I have encountered during competitions and my journey have also helped me develop strong coping, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. In addition, having the ability to compete in a team environment by playing college tennis and being the student-athlete advisory committee representative for my team continues to greatly shape my communication and teamwork skills, as well as further evolve my leadership qualities on and off the court by maintaining a constant line of dialogue with teammates, coaches, and athletic administrators.With my major in psychology, I have the opportunity to pursue my passion and fascination for human cognition and behavior. I am especially interested in the intersection of psychological principles and sports and how psychological factors influence athletic performance. Hence, I aspire to be a sport psychologist in the future who is committed to helping athletes and teams optimize their mental well-being and performance.
