Oversaw the performance of 4 engineering groups - design support, mechanical evaluation, PCB sub-assemblies and factory engineering total number of support staff 19.•Ensured that design specifications were met for various materials such as injected plastics, pressed/ extruded and die cast metals as well as all packaging materials (EPS cushion and cartons)•Validated future designs by the use of DMDR (Digital Mockup Design Review) to check for potential problems using 3D software, recurrence prevention and FMEA principles•Oversaw for quality and on time deliveries of overseas (Asia and Latin America) manufacturers by attend supplier trials and making on site approvals •Managed the development and approval of all raw material handling (PCBs) and finished goods assembly specifications•Guaranteed all mechanical and structural testing ensuring the integrity of the product from the assembly line to final customer using internal standards (MIS) and external ISTA (1A, 1B, 3A, 3B) testing procedures•Participated in yearly Global Design Concept and Productivity reviews in Japan headquarters•Contributed in the schedule and allocation of globally approved parts ensuring fair distributing of parts vs. workload between 8 different global manufacturing sites in Asia, Europe and Latin America•Performed in-depth analysis of manufacturing and raw material costs and identified areas of improvement (i.e. cost buster, ITAKONA activity, lean manufacturing)•Generated technical, weekly progress and evaluation reports for top management review•Prepared and managed new investments and expense budget ensuring targets are met and within company policies
