I am an Assistant Professor and former Head/ In-Charge in the Department of Spanish Studies, School of Languages, Doon University, Dehradun, and I teach Spanish language, culture, history and literature to students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Spanish (Integrated) Program and Bachelor of Arts (4 years as per NEP) in Spanish. I have completed my Ph.D. from the Center for European Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University on the theme of Linguistic Diversity and Integration in Spain.I was a visiting fellow at the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Transnationalism and Migration, known as GRITIM, University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona from March to July, 2018 on Erasmus+ scholarship. During my stay I conducted ethnographic field work for my doctoral research.In November 2018, I was part of the thematic residency program on Diversity Policies at Faber Residency, Olot, Catalonia. I completed Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in 2011 as a Junior Research Fellow from Center for Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Latin American Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University on the topic "Multiculturalism in Spanish Immigration Cinema 1990 to 2010".My research area is Contemporary Spanish Society, Culture, Migration, Linguistic Diversity and Social Integration. I am also interested in the related fields of Globalization, Diaspora, Transnationalism, Identity and Intercultural Communication. As a language expert I also have experience and interest in language services like translation, interpretation, e-content creation, and online language teaching.I am looking for opportunities and collaborations where my language proficiency, inter-cultural understanding of Spain & Latin America and my research skills can be fully utilized.
