After struggling through the first few years of motherhood I found a passion to help moms navigate the transition to becoming a mother. While moving through pregnancy and the fourth trimester, balancing work outside or inside the home, and working to maintain relationships and your sense of self, challenges are ever-present. Implement preventative health education with a focus on sexual health, nutrition and fitness, bystander intervention, alcohol and other drugs, overall wellness, violence prevention, and peer health education in a university setting. • Facilitate and present to groups of all sizes (5-300) while utilizing targeted approaching and engaging learning strategies. • Research, design, implement and evaluate health education and promotion programming using theory and evidence-based approaches.• Request funding through grant development and presentation funding requests for a variety of events and programming. • Create health marketing and communication campaigns and materials.• Coordinate and lead small group workshops on a variety of topics.• Provide one-on-one preventative health education and counseling with an emphasis on motivational interviewing and referrals.• Work in collaboration with clinicians, social workers, and university stakeholders. • Supervise undergraduate and graduate interns.• Develop and update curriculum in accordance with best practices.• Organize and conduct educational programs and activities on various health topics that will contribute to the improvement of student health by bringing about change in understanding, attitudes, and behavior. • Compose health articles and campaigns geared towards athletes and gym members.
