- A new inorganic coating for the fire duct: Phase I (Aug 2019 – Dec 2019)Development of an inorganic coating in collaboration Brandschutz Fire Technology Pte Ltd. The coating will be an alternate arrangement with the current board and rock-wool method for the fire duct which is very huge and time consuming to construct. Work involves• Sample preparation• Fire testing at TUV SUD as per BS EN 13823 and EN 1182- Development and scaling up of Inorganic glass fiber partition boards and cladding core (Jan 2019 – Apr 2020)The project involves development of an improved magnesia cement composite technique with non-combustible, water resistant and fire-resistant features for both partition boards and cladding core application.Work involves• Sample preparation• Mechanical testing: Flexural, impact• Warm water and water absorption analysis• Sound insulation and absorption analysis• Fire testing as per BS EN 13501 • Strength and robustness test for partition boards as per SS 492 at TUV SUD (on going)- Development and scaling up of natural fiber based fire rated partition boards and organic cladding core for the ACP (Aug 2018 – Dec 2019)Unlike conventional gypsum and magnesia based fire-rated boards, these natural fiber-based boards show the best of both worlds, in terms of balance between performance / cost and construction productivity / waste management.Also, the project is in collaboration with Feuerschutz Technologies which up brings the technology into the commercial world.Work involves• Natural fiber treatment/sizing• Laboratory scale sample preparation• Characterization and mechanical testing• Fire testing in lab facility as well as in TUV SUD• Fine tuning of the constituent materials • Based on fire and mechanical testing performance
