As a Senior Associate, I play a pivotal role within the South Asia region and support unit, encompassing global internal compliance, human resources, finance, and administration. My responsibilities include supervising and providing essential support for the day-to-day business administration and human resources operations across the South Asia offices in India and Sri Lanka, as well as any associated satellite offices in the region. I ensure that all activities align with global guidelines and procedures.In my role, I also supervise and support the Associate (Finance & Administration) within the region, ensuring consistent and efficient administrative support for the South Asia team. Additionally, I lead global reporting on finance and compliance for the GEF-7 and UNEP grants, managing a portfolio valued at $6.27 million.One of the key projects under my supervision is the “Transforming Agricultural Systems and Strengthening Local Economies in High Biodiversity Areas of India through Sustainable Landscape Management” initiative. This project focuses on reducing land degradation and conserving biodiversity within agricultural landscapes in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing supply chains, and fostering public-private partnerships.The project is implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The key governmental stakeholders include the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (MoAFW) and the Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEFCC). We work closely with co-executing agencies such as Rhythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) and the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) to achieve the project’s objectives.

The post-holder will be managed under the supervision of the Senior Associate F&A, the day-to-day business administration, and human resources support for our office in India and/or any associated satellite offices located within the country, in line with global guidelines and procedures.

I managed the responsibility related to all financial operations, including accounting, auditing (internal and external), statutory compliances, grants management, budgeting, and management MIS. As a Finance Officer in South Asia Regional office looking after the 18 partner’s organization in India & Bangladesh under European Union funded project in south Asia on “case management and fight against trafficking within and from South Asia". Visit to partner organization for organizing mid-term audit of partners. Validation of various kind of contract. Provide financial reports to management on budgets and variances.

Looking after the 16 partner’s projects. Maintain the grants financial database as historical information to be used during meetings and presentations. Prepare grants MIS reports to facilitate and support the decision making process with regard to grant funded projects. Major role to look after the Primary healthcare service to the street and slum dwelling population of Kolkata funded by Irish Aid, Holistic Education Project, Child Watch Project, Hope Children's Hospital. Prepare detailed monthly MIS reports reflecting grants expenditure vis-à-vis approved budgets.

As a Finance & Administration Officer in Port Blair office to coordinate the finance, accounts and administration department are well managed and organized in order to support the programmes in a timely and efficient manner for deserter management (Tsunami) relief work.
