Worked with clients from a variety of commercial backgrounds and managed extensive trade mark portfolios for a number of large financial companies. Those portfolios frequently generated contentious issues including oppositions, invalidity and revocation actions in the UK, the EU and in other jurisdictions around the world. Enjoyed working with a broad range of smaller clients and regularly conducted trade mark clearance searches and advised on trade mark strategy. Filing, prosecuting and policing trade marks in all territories was an integral part of my workload at Keltie. I also worked on a full range of design and copyright issues and have experience in the filing of registered design applications. I advised clients on unregistered design protection both in the UK and EU and on the subsistence and infringement of copyright and related copyright matters.
