Worked on a small team integrating an Auth0-based authentication strategy into an existing platform.

Implemented an automated installation procedure for Oracle Database for use in the FS1 GSM product. Designed, implemented, and maintained a Java translation layer for communicating between back-end software and a customer-facing database on the storage system. Continued to support the development of the translation layer by leading training sessions and mentoring peers as they onboarded. Developed for a HATEOAS-compliant REST interface for system monitoring and maintenance.

Designed, implemented, and supported the upgrade process for a multi-node disk storage system. Served as lead development engineer for a code upgrade path that included system OS re-installs and significant interlocking requirements with many different components including CTDB, GPFS, and TSM. Served as the focal person for planning and scheduling customer cluster upgrades. Supported test teams by triaging defects and providing documentation and education. Worked closely with field support teams to upgrade customer clusters providing education, documentation, and 24x7 support when needed.

Enterprise software development in the IBM Systems and Technology Group. Interesting applications include C to DB2 integration and Perl scripts managing a software upgrade across a multi-node system. Designs, implements, maintains, documents, and provides live customer support for vital components of enterprise tape and disk storage systems.

Designed, implemented, and maintained a C library for multiple teams with a continually shifting set of concurrency requirements accessing a shared DB2 database. Consistently met delivery deadlines with quality. Acted as primary interface between the TS7700 product team and the DB2 support team. Served as point of contact for problems assigned to the database component from test teams. Helped to implement two robust DB2 table merge routines: one to merge tables between two nodes and one to merge sections of tables across three to five nodes. Worked closely with teammates spread across multiple geographies including Japan. Started with no previous database knowledge and immediately turned educational opportunities into quality, on-time deliverables. - Identified an opportunity to improve data structure implementation by designing (and implementing) a change that saved countless hours of code maintenance. - Demonstrated tenacity in tracking down and resolving complex problems between components on multi-node tape storage systems.
