Amazon Travel and Events (Full time contract at Amazon via Raining Virtue)As a founding engineer of OTIS (Organizational Travel Information System), I led the design and development of the OTIS UI/APIs/Storage, working full-stack to deliver a seamless integrated data warehousing solution. Key achievements include:* Engineered the OTIS UI using React+Polaris, implemented 10+ scalable REST APIs, enabling features like automated candidate travel request form and policy exemption assignment form.* Developed 10+ ETL jobs to ingest ~2TB of travel data from various providers, ensuring comprehensive and accurate information for all stakeholders.* Collaborated cross-functionally to set up 20+ event-driven automation processes, catering to diverse internal team needs for travel compliance and safety.* Opened up OTIS APIs for integration with internal and external clients in a secure manner, represented the team for the security review. o Static page fallback is a technique used by Amazon to serve the deals page in case of heavy load during Prime events. I rearchitected the legacy Static Page generator Cron Job (written in Python, hosted On-Premises) and moved it to AWS to make it more resilient and improve the credit score.o In the process, rewrote the code in Java, made the code extensible to easily add new marketplaces in future, improved Developer experience by making to run and debug the code locally in Dev Box. Added unit tests with 90% code coverage, set up CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.o The legacy code was lacking observability and had 50+ incidents in the past 2 years. Added necessary metrics, traces in the code and set up alarms in the process of making service more resilient.o Tools/Technologies used: Java, Typescript, JetBrains IntelliJ IDE, Mockito, AWS SDK, AWS CDK, AWS Lambda, S3, SQS, CloudFormation, Code Deploy, CloudWatch, IAM.

o Worked as a Programmer Analyst in Amazon, with good understanding of Amazon transportation systems providing technical solutions to various business initiatives and performance improvement projects at Amazon.o Designed and documented REST/HTTP APIs, including UI integration, used by 250+ carriers across different regions with peak load of 30 million packages shipped in 24 hours. This automation tool reduces 70~80% of manual effort and maintenance cost, overall turn-around time of network expansion and business initiative. Received “Guardian of Simplicity” award for this.o Involved in designing and analysis of a migration project named SSP, to unify the SLAM & Dock processes under one framework, which gives real-time data of truck planning and movement onsite. With this visibility, the Operational team can proactively follow up and deep dive on late truck departures and will help mis-sort issues and improve concessions related to mis-sorts.o Worked in design, development and documentation for the new self-serve application which involves setting up basic infrastructure, AWS packaging and deployment, React and Redux UI development and backend Coral REST Services.

o Worked on integration project which connects online to offline stores. Developed integration modules using Apache Camel, for order push, to track order status, payment, and store integrations for multiple markets. Owned end to end integration for Hardees and KFC Market, thereby reducing almost 90% of the overall labor and maintenance costs.o Designed and developed end to end solution to integrate RMQ messages with Azure Service Bus Messaging Entities – Topics and Queues for a multi-tenant based environment, written APIs to facilitate easy creation of topic/queue for a client, thereby improving reliability and scalability of applications and services where-in the data is highly available and not lost even when the client service goes down.

o Automated the Build and Deployment of MyAutoSupport/UA through Jenkins. Wrote scripts and integrated tool with Jenkins which helped in CI/CD. This allowed easy integration with internal services, maximized environment availability, reduced error and risk of production outages and manual deployment overhead of approximately 90%.o Owner of Upgrade Advisor Module that simplifies the process of planning Data ONTAP system upgrades, which generates Upgrade Plan (pdf/excel report) within seconds based on rules written in Drools, which reduces the manual effort, error during upgrade.o Owned the end-to-end responsibility for building a framework facilitating the customers of NetApp monitor the status of the storage devices.o Have also worked on the UI part of the tool written in Angular JS to add features to improve the browsability of the site.

o Designed an Android App gets data from Python script which will collect data from 4G connected devices using Java, Android SDK. This data collected was helpful in testing of multiple 4G devices connected and reduced the testing effort, human, and technical risks, lowered manpower costs and increased functional coverage.o Designed the complete web user interface for the project in Go Ahead Embedded Web Server using C,JavaScript, HTML, CSS.

o Worked with Integration testing team and designed an Android App/Web Application which collects statistics and plots graph of 4G devices connected within a range.o Designed Web application with customized dashboard with different widgets, which uses High charts charting open-source library written in pure JavaScript, which offers an easy way of adding interactive charts to the web application with both Mobile and desktop compatibility.
