As the practice's Patient Services Manager my primary responsibility is to ensure that we are providing an office experience to our patients that exceeds their expectations. To accomplish this I serve as a practice concierge and patient advocate. Although we are a small office, I manage all front-end operations of the practice including check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification and coordination, release of information, and customer service. A few times a week I supervise one employee. I am responsible for training new front-end employees, and cross-training all other members of staff on front-end duties. I am also responsible for IT support, EMR support and training, facilities management, purchasing, physician credentialing for insurance and hospital privileges, and insurance contracting. I am cross-trained on medical coding and billing, and I am the primary employee that performs this function when the office manager is on leave. I also serve as a human resources representative to non-management staff.We recently re-located our practice and I was the one in charge of all relocation tasks, logistics, and operations. We successfully completed all physical property moving, IT set-up and crossover, and utility installs on-time. The office manager was tasked with insurance and hospital credentialing for the move. We only had to suspend normal business operations for two days.Cedar Park Pediatrics is home to kiddoEMR, a fully customizable EMR and PM software solution that our Owner and President, Dr Joseph Cohen, developed in-house to better serve our patients and the pediatric community. During development I helped with software systems analysis, and coordinated the in-practice deployment of the new software with the developer. I specialized in pro-active risk management. I served with honor and distinction, and received the Officer of the Month decoration on two separate occasions. I made frequent contributions to the company's Training Journal -- a periodical with company-wide distribution.

My duties as a summer camp counselor primarily involved 24/7 supervision of up to 12 children ages 6-16. Depending on cabin assignments I supervised one assistant counselor. Although I did not meet the physical qualification for lifeguard certification I received advanced life saving training, and designed a multiple-choice test for CPR and First-Aid re-certification for the rest of the summer staff. I worked throughout the summer with the camp maintenance team, which entailed trail making, service and fire road maintenance, tree trimming around the ropes course, and various general maintenance tasks. I also helped design and operate a new skill/activity course with 2-3 other counselors called "Going Ballistics" that included fun, interactive activities that taught basic physics concepts.

Paid internship to reconcile archived business files with the index of their location. The assignment was supposed to take me all summer, but no one told me that, so I completed it in 2 weeks with impeccable accuracy. The remainder of my internship was spent performing routine administrative assistant tasks, including, but not limited to photocopying, preparing client documents for mailing, retrieving and maintaining business records, and purchasing office supplies.
