Psychotherapist
CurrentI’m a Bay Area native and am inspired by the diversity and beauty of our environment, and the people who choose to live here. I specialize in assessment, treatment, and treatment planning for adults who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance, alcohol, gambling addiction, mood disorders, anxiety, and co-occurring disorders. I utilize Evidence Based Practices (EBP). I'm a Cognitive Process Therapist (CPT) provider, and am certified as Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) via NAADAC, National Association for Addiction Professional. I first became interested in trauma work while working as an intern at Department of Mental Health Triage unit. There were patients who visited the unit who had lived through a traumatic event which profoundly disrupted their lives. Their lives felt disjointed, conflicted and they tried to make sense of what happened and why. During therapeutic process I am witness to perseverance, resiliency, hope, and strength of others under extraordinary circumstances. At end of the process, clients have stronger sense of self, insight, and a creation of their own “new normal”. I provide a therapeutic environment that is safe, authentic, personable, grounded, non-judgmental, and respectful of client’s needs. I have more than 8 years’ experience treating clients with PTSD and results are positive, consistent, measurable, and durable. In addition, I have treated clients who struggle with addictions and other mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar spectrum, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. My theoretical orientation is: Humanistic, Integrative, and Cognitive Behavioral. In regards to treatment for substances, alcohol, and process addictions, one size does not fit all and I take into account the needs of the client, and their preferences. There are numerous alternatives for treatment, I utilize a client centered approach that guides clients through treatment that is best suited for them.
