The Vasey Fellowship affords promising scholars from outside the US the opportunity to serve as researchers at the Pacific Forum to develop hands-on expertise on US-Asia policy issues and gain an appreciation of Indo-Pacific economic and security affairs and policymaking challenges.

The Young Leaders Program was established in 2004 to enhance cross-cultural opportunities for young scholars and foreign policy professionals to improve their policy analysis skills at an early juncture in their careers. The program affords Young Leaders an unparalleled opportunity to build their network, observe the foreign policy making process, and voice their generation’s viewpoints within elite circles of policy specialists. They also gain a deeper understanding of serious conflicts and issues in the Indo-Pacific region, learn how experts and leaders deal with these problems, and work to develop their own perspectives. The Young Leaders network now includes more than 1,000 current members from 56 countries.

· Conducted in-depth research on ~200 Chinese companies operating in Rason North Korean special economic zones, using primary and secondary sources in Chinese and Korean· Translated Korean company names into Chinese and English, analyzing customs clearance data to understand China-DPRK trade patterns and compiling findings into a Google Spreadsheet

In addition to playing the traditional role of an editor, I have been responsible for administrative work, such as supervising entry-level editors, tracking the status of each article to ensure that both immediate and final deadlines are met, and keeping all lines of communication open, especially those involving faculty advisors, external reviewers, and authors.

· Performed research on the UNSC resolutions on DPRK sanctions, Pyongyang's evasion machinery, and their impacts on the PRC's shipping entities· Analyzed territorial disputes in the South China Sea and policies on maritime environmental crimes of the Indo-Pacific countries· Conducted research on South Korean manufacturing companies (mainly automobile) operating in the United States
