During this time i found myself working on several of the other BP assets including the SNS terminals (Dimlington/Easington), Leman field, Indi field, Ravenspurn North, West Sole Alpha, Shehalion and last but not least the Clair platform. This position was for a period of around 8 months. -

During my time in this position I obtained further training in Corrosion & Plant Inspection which broadened my roles and responsibilities within LR; it wasn’t long before my position involved Offshore Inspection Engineer Support for the NW Hutton. During 2003 the NW Hutton was do commence decommissioning, even after the down manning of this facility I was involved with the regular NUI trips to conduct the required inspections. -
Lead Ndt TechnicianLloyd'S Register Mar 2001 - 2002London, GbOnly 8 months after leaving LR Integrity (Formely RTD), Lloyd's Register made contact again and asked my interest in a two on/two off as LNT (Lead NDT Technician) on the BP Thistle (AKA: The Black Pig), I quickly took them up on the offer and filled the position for around 12 months. This position involved supervising all NDT work on board the platform and ensuring all scopes of work were completed efficiently. Some great experience at a young age that helped give me the drive to progress my career. -

My role within CAN was based out of the base office in Aberdeen coupled with onshore base support as required.

During this time I gained some valuable experience which has been the foundation of my career. Qualified as PCN Level II in the following methods of Inspection 1) Ultrasonic Testing, 2) Radiographic Testing, 3) Magnetic Particle Inspection, 4) Dye Penetrant Inspection & 5) Eddy Current Inspection, I was able to provide the business with support on most projects as required. Through RTD's investment into innovative technology i.e. incotest, IRIS, etc I was able to broaden my expertise into some of the more specialist areas of inspection.
